# Memo for October 3069 **From** Commander [[Jasmine Or’lient]] of the [[Valkyries of Hanakotoba]] **To** All GSF Commanders & All members of Valkyries of Hanakotoba **Language** translated to the preferred language of the recipient Sorry for missing a notes for August & September, so I'm looking to have this back on track. But some people seem to have gotten the note that I will answer any questions asked, even if anonymous. So there are some of those at the end. Down to business. We are a bit short on available units, as you may have noticed, but are working with the 268th to fill out for the time being. Also, we got a couple of units from friends. They are Word of Blake mechs the nexus and the raijin. We have already repainted them. I'm being up front about this because some might have an issue with this. If you do, let me know and we can talk. That brings up to how we've changed up our paint scheme. This was actually brought up by Dahlia and Chrysanthemum. Instead of it being uniform, which we do like, each mech will be painted to match the pilot. Mine as you all have seen is colored after my name, as are Indigo's Karnov and Chrysanthemum's Raijin. And with that we welcome Chrysanthemum as our newest cadet mechwarrior. She'll still be working with Daisy. Future plans include setting up the Signals Department into a full unit. With only Chrys and Iris we are still short so they will be a part of 2:a Rörlig Spaningspluton until it can be fleshed out better. Two more topics before questions. First up is we are planning to work with Clan Starfall on some business items. More will be mentioned once we have more. Also Auntie Rose is planning to work with the Eagle's Tears with their restaurant. Currently she is auditioning. She does need taste testers, so anyone looking to enjoy some Polish or Greek food, be sure to find her corner of our mess where she is learning a bit more about those cuisines. Next up is the main reason I made sure not to miss this. Looking over records, and checking into repair records of other teams, I've noticed something. Units takes time to repair here. I've also looked into why. It's not a lack of personnel, or a lack of parts. Usually it looks to be down to just dumb luck. But we can influence luck. The investment and business with Starfall will help with some things, but I want to start investing in skilling up and supplying our mechtechs and gearheads. I know it won't see immediate effects, but I want that when we do take damage in combat, we are back up and running as soon as possible. We are up to 2 mechs that are not combat ready due to battle damage. I mean, there looks to be enough hanger queens in the GSF to hold a beauty pageant. Onto Questions. We don't have many and some I've responded to personally already. This is from Clover Or’lient: "Are we adding hot dropping to the training regimen? It's rather tricky, but I don't want to put in the time if we don't plan to do it often." No. We plan to use it only in emergencies, and hopefully when it's the only option. So please don't expect Ambrosia to be kicking anyone out of a plane anytime soon as a part of regular training. Except Chrysanthemum and anyone who happens to give her trouble about her recent mission. Even if they are just a tech. Next and last one is from Ulam "How can I get a waiver for learning Japanese? I haven't learned it the last few decades and don't intend to start now" You don't. I'm not looking for fluency, or for it to be comprehensive. Enough to be able to talk to people in your field about things you need to talk about. I want to ask about skilling & gearing up repair teams. I was thinking of 100k a month or something dedicated to it. A unit being damaged enough to need repairs is a lot of game days (and in game months) that they won't be usable so helping the rolls in any way I can help. And if it does work it might be something others can look into.
