# Ironborn Post Mission Chatter
"Sergeant Wynch, would you please calm down."
"With all due respect, ma'am, I will not. Major Bannson nearly got us all killed. And this isn't the first time either. There are others who would agree with me!"
Alannah sat in her chair and pinched the bridge of her nose as Karin Wynch vented her frustrations over the comms line.
"He dropped us right on top of the Wobbies position." Karin continued. "Ed and my brother nearly had 'Mechs fall on their heads. Somebody's Schrek ended up underwater. Another machine crashed in the woods and Carl's _Archer_ got blasted to smithereens. If we'd deployed normally and let the cultists come to us--"
"You might still have lost." Alannah interrupted. "According to reports, you were facing 3 elite Level IIs of Word of Blake. Success was not a foregone conclusion, no matter how you deployed. Also, while I know your Regulator was destroyed, according to the Battle Armor troops you were carrying, most of that damage was _self-inflicted_ rather than from the enemy."
Karin paused and grumbled under her breath, then said, "Well, if _somebody_ hadn't chosen to drop us right on top of the enemy, maybe I wouldn't have done that. In any case, I refuse to follow Major Bannson's orders again."
"I'm gonna have to agree with my sister on this one." Sergeant Major Charles Wynch spoke up. "Hot dropping us in without sufficient intelligence as to the enemy's strength and composition as well as how far ahead he put us was reckless, especially given the fact that the landing was like playing dodgeball only with the "balls" falling from the sky. Also, his unit has a personal vendetta against the Wobbies. It could affect his decision-making once we get to the plant. Bannson's choices can't be trusted."
"I also have reservations about following Bannson's orders." Edward Kenning added his opinion.
"Lieutenant Alvarez, do you agree with them as well?" Asked Alannah.
Cornelius responded. "I'm not going to argue with the chain of command, Ma'am. Sure, our tank drivers got shafted, but, you know, if you can't take the heat. I don't have any opinions on Major Bannson one way or the other. Sure, the plan went sideways, but that's war for ya. It could've just as easily went our way and we wouldn't be having this conversation."
"Gee, thanks for nothing." Said Karin.
"In any event," Charles exclaimed. "My sister needs a new ride. I hear we're supposed to get something at the base for her, but afterward, she's probably going to need something that can keep up with Ed and me."
"I'm looking into that now." Said Alannah. "Until then, I will hear no further insubordination out of any of you. Major Bannson is still in charge and you _will_ follow his orders. Is that understood?"
"Yes, Ma'am." Came the reply.
Alannah closed the link. Sighing, she called the Governor's quartermaster. "This is Major Alannah Harlaw of the Ironborn. I need to speak with Joy Yokorobi."
After a few minutes, a female voice came over the comms. "Yokorobi here, how may I help you, Major Harlaw?"
"One of my Regulator tanks has been destroyed in battle." Alannah explained. "I remember hearing you might have a Stygian among the salvaged vehicles that have been claimed from the enemy that could be used to replace my lost hovertank. Is that correct?"
---
“Major I am sorry, but we do not Stygian as one of the vehicles. Phoenix does have the following vehicle types.” She will post the following
25 Ton - Harasser Missile Platform (Standard, LRM and Mini-Peggy)
35 Ton - Pegasus Scout Hover Tank (Standard - Missile - Sensor) - Plainsman - Saladin Assault Hover Tank (Standard and Armor) - Saracen Medium Hover Tank - Scimitar Medium Hover Tank
40 Ton - Gladius Medium Hover Tank
50 Ton - Condor Heavy Hover Tank (Standard and Davion) - Sand Devil II Heavy Scout Tank
“All of these are made at plant two. We do have wheeled and tracked vehicles also.”
---
"Understood." Alannah replied. "I'll have to talk to the Colonel about this, we'll be in touch."
Shaking her head, Alannah called in again. "Get me the Colonel on Shinrin. I have to discuss something with him."
After a few minutes, Euron responded: "Yes, Alannah, what's the problem."
"Regulator Charlie has been destroyed in the field." Alannah reported. "By Karin Wynch herself."
Euron sounded skeptical. "And why exactly would she do that?"
"Because she either misunderstood or completely forgot her mission brief." Said Alannah with a hint of annoyance. "She was worried that her vehicle, which had been immobilized, by the way, was going to be captured by an enemy that had no intention of holding the battlefield. Therefore, she decided to tell the Fa Shih squad she was carrying to plant mines on the tank and its Gauss Rifle to deny it to the enemy who, as I said, were just passing through the area and had no intention of holding it. That is to say, she panicked for _no reason_. As a result, an _irreplaceable_ military asset has been lost due to her foolish decision. Also, she has expressed a certain, shall we say, animosity toward Major Bannson who was in command of the mission. Both she and her brother also may or may not follow his orders again in the next battle, which would be blatant insubordination. Now, Karin wants a new ride and I'm not sure I should give it to her or simply demote her back to the tech corps."
Euron quickly responded. "All right, Alannah, hit the brakes there a sec. I'm sure Karin didn't _mean_ to cost us a tank. True, we can't replace it, but I'm glad she and the crew managed to escape unharmed. You forget that she is still new to being in the field, so I'm not going to come down on her for panicking. The insubordination, however, will need to be addressed. I can't have my people refusing the orders of a superior simply because they don't like him or his ideas. Major Bannson may have his quirks, but he's still a loyal member of the GSF. And that has to be impressed on them. Make sure the Wynches, and anyone else who has a problem with Major Bannson, know that any disobedience of his orders in the field will not be tolerated. As for Karin personally, she'll be grounded once she gets back, at least until we can find her a new machine."
"Very well, Colonel." Said Alannah. "I'll be sure to tell them." She closed the line before reopening one to the team in the field to tell Karin, Charles, Edward and Cornelius of Euron's orders.
