After Action Party Line for Mission 101 Actors: Orchid, Tryna, and Brant Orchid: Ok GSF, we will be swapping to our after action party line. Any are welcome to join. Tryna: Bouncy bouncy bouncy Orchid: Yeah yeah yeah lots of running around. But just for me. Brant: There was a lot of of things to cause you to have a bad day. Orchid: Aside from the mines that dropped right in front of me? That was new. Tryna: No no, you would have been fine. I on the other hand was wondering exactly how bouncy that ride was going to get. Brant: Bwahaha. Well I did have a nice time being rocked to sleep while the pilot was recording. Orchid: Ug, This guy has spent a ton of money. It's the same every time we find an area. Brant: If I remember Amber's report correctly, they found caves that might have been a way in. Tryna: Trap Brant: So if we spent enough time checking those out we might find a way in. Tryna: Trap Brant: But we are on the losing end of anything if we actually use a cave. Tryna: Trap Orchid: We'd have better luck dropping Iris in from orbit. Tryna: Oh, that'd also be a trap. Orchid: Yeah, the only thing I'm noticing is that those sensor systems look juicy. Tryna: Iris would have a hilarious time. Issue is all the mobile forces. Brant: If she did drop in, she likely wouldn't survive. But the response time is also interesting. Orchid: Yeah I have some things to talk with Kem about. Orchid and Kem on short range comms Kem: You said you had things to relay quickly. Orchid: There's no way in directly. It will take some doing. The response time is pretty good, but look for bases where these forces can be stored. Kem: And caves. They favor caves for hiding larger equipment. Orchid: And the sensor towers are pretty well protected. But a lot of their firepower might be tied up in them. Kem: But not all of it. The AC are pretty dangerous. Orchid: But there was a path that only really had to deal with 3-4 of them if the LRM turrets and mines were not an issue. Kem: And the GSF is able to drop an awful lot of firepower onto a single target at a time, which is all they'd have. Things Orchid has noticed: - There was no cave systems this time, and the defensive forces were later and weak compared to other areas. - The mines are doing the bulk of the work to keep us out. If they even just launched as not mines, we'd be able to drill a hole. - With that many mines being used we need to do something about the mines before they are dropped. - The response each time has been roughly the same. Douse the area with mines, a lance of mechs, and at least 1 group of tanks. Orchid, Tryna, and Brant have been on all 3 missions, for reference. Some options we might want to look into - Hitting the sensor towers in an area and see what happens as a response. - Hit the sensor towers and force our way in on a good path, but the reinforcements would be trouble. - Hit the sensor towers in an area, let the response come, put up something of a fight, but hit another area nearby to make a path. - Send in some troops to infiltrate and explore some behind lines. In any case the larger issue is still logistics will suck if we don't have a supply line for a larger outing. So before we can do the above, we need a way to scout out all the way to where we need to go. And if we can defend a path in, that'd be amazing but I don't think we have the forces to actually do something like that. If there was a cave system we could find that goes from inside to outside or at least near outside, that could work if we get the cave system from the other side first instead of trying to secure it from inside the cave. But that's a touch insane.
