Kiah’s Hammers patrol spotted two units moving along Tone-gawa. At first it looked as if they were going to move on Kamploops but they did not cross the river. When they turned towards the mountains the Hammers sent in a heavier force to identify the units and their activities. The Hammers patrol picked up the lead unit and noticed that the turrets on the trailing vehicles were facing to the rear. The Hammers patrol challenged the unit; the unit commander identified themselves as the mercenary company Metal Thunder and refused to stop, stating only that they were heading north. Minutes later an ECM field was detected, then the trailing unit came into visual range and opened fire on Metal Thunder's lead Heavy LRM carrier. The carrier was destroyed. Metal Thunder returned fire, destroying the Merlin and two Tokugawa tanks; the remaining two Tokugawa tanks powered down. The commander of Metal Thunder claimed the destroyed vehicles as salvage and turned the MechWarrior pilots and vehicle crews over to Kiah’s Hammers. The prisoners will be held at Camp Kurawa for now. Metal Thunder will be transported to Yousai for interrogation and follow-up. ## Related persons & units - Metal Thunder (mercenary company) — commander not recorded in this report - Leutnant Seaton Reeves Franks — Gray Death Scout Armor (A) - MechWarrior Reece — Great Wyrm (former Cougar Pilot, Jade Falcon) - 1st Leutnant Benjamin Dalton Baird — Morningstar City Command Vehicle (XO, DCMS C3M) - Reanne — Manteuffel Attack Tank Prime (DCMS C3S) - Hudson — Gray Death Standard Battle Armor - Dante — Standard Inner Sphere Battle Armor - Evvon — Striker Light Tank ’61 (DCMS C3S) ## Notes & provenance - Source JSON: no matching WorldAnvil article JSON was found in `source/articles/` for this mission; frontmatter source set to `source/articles/NOT_FOUND`. - Date normalized from repository note date `68/05` → `3068-05` in frontmatter. - Original file cleaned (removed markdown fencing and restructured lists for readability).
