## Summary An eight-unit escort for a weapons convoy was ambushed. The Karnov transport was destroyed and its crew killed; two battle armors were lightly damaged in the crash. October of 3067 ## Quests / Report The Merc Force provided an eight-unit escort for a convoy bringing Tokugawa Heavy Tanks to the planet militia base. As the convoy moved along the road it was ambushed by pirates. The attackers achieved a decisive hit early in the fight, downing the Karnov belonging to The Hands of the Goddess with the first and only volley of fire. The pirates radioed an offer to let the convoy pass in exchange for one of the supply vehicles and its cargo. The security force commander declined the offer and continued to advance. When the Karnov was in range the pirates destroyed it. Both sides exchanged radio traffic for a time. Monitoring the coms, I ordered the field commander to hand two vehicles to the pirates — one ammunition truck and one armored vehicle — without their crews. This was done to prevent further bloodshed (both civilian and mercenary). With trackers placed in the surrendered vehicles, we hope to obtain the location of the pirate base camp. The convoy, minus the two vehicles, reached the militia base without further incident. The crew of the Karnov were KIA and the troopers in the cargo hold suffered wounds.
